| A brief potted history of our racing involvement. | |
Courtenay Sport were contacted by Adrian Churchill to datalog his Astra VXR Race car after a mixed weekend at Donington Park in July. Once we were able to work on the car it became apparent that the software could be improved and this was our first involvement in 2009. We supported Adrian in the final round of the 2009 Championship at Snetterton Circuit.
Courtenay Sport gave full support to Adrian Churchill and the Astra VXR and ran the car for the 2010 season, attending every round. Adrian and Courtenay Sport won the 2010 championship. During the course of the season we were also involved in remapping every other Vauxhall Astra VXR on the grid for the 2010 season. We also mapped the Class B Corsa VXR of Kevin George.
Courtenay Sport again gave full support to Adrian Churchill and the championship winning Astra VXR, now displaying number 1. Adrian and Courtenay Sport again win the championship. Kevin George drove the second Courtenay Sport Astra VXR, which was run by Mardi Gras Motorsport. Courtenay Sport towards the mid part of the season became involved in helping Joe Girling's racing efforts, supplying the clutch assembly, KW suspension and mapping the ecu to maximise the car's potential, giving Joe a strong finish to the season in preparation for 2012.
Courtenay Sport Racing evolves. Courtenay Sport Racing attend the Autosport Show at the NEC. A new year and a new race season herald a new look. All the cars run by Courtenay Sport are white. Courtenay Sport Racing build a brand new Astra VXR for the 2012 season for Joe Girling's championship effort. Courtenay Sport's second car is overhauled over the winter and is run for Martin Johnson, an ex BTCC competitor. Mardi Gras motorsport build Adrian Churchill a Focus RS for the 2012 season, which is run by Courtenay Sport and has been tuned by Courtenay Sport with KW suspension, a Milltek Sport Race exhaust system and Courtenay Sport ecu mapping. Joe Girling's 2011 Astra VXR is fully overhauled over winter with a view to running in 2012 as a fourth car.
