Underdrive Alloy Bottom Pulley for Z20LET engine.
The standard bottom pulley is constructed around a rubber centre donut which is bonded to a steel centre section. Over time the rubber can split, which causes the pulley to wobble. This can throw the fan belt particularly on engines that are operating at high RPM.
This alloy pulley cures this problem and is machined from solid billet alloy. It also weighs less than the OE item.
This underdrive pulley is specifically designed for VX220 Turbo and can be used instead of an OE pulley. It can be used either with the factory belt tensioner or where owners wish to remove the OE tensioner and auxilliary slave wheel and run direct from the bottom pulley to the alternator - known as the 'Short Belt' Mod. This eliminates the rubbing noises often associated with the slave wheel, especially in wet conditions and saves a few kgs in weight!
Using an underdrive pulley instead of an OE size pulley gives greater clearance from the belt run next to the OE oil cooler take off banjo bolts.
This pulley can also be used with the factory tensioner and the factory multi v belt run with a shorter belt 5PK1645.
Where the OE tensioner and slave wheel are removed the direct route belt is 5PK858.
This pulley is also available with a rear protection flange to help prevent debris ingress into the cambelt area.
