Underdrive Alloy Bottom Pulley for Z20LEx engines. With Rear Protection Flange.
The standard bottom pulley is constructed around a rubber centre donut which is bonded to a steel centre section. Over time the rubber can split, which causes the pulley to wobble. This can throw the fan belt particularly on engines that are operating at high RPM. Our alloy pulley cures this problem and is machined from solid billet alloy. It also weighs less than the OE item.
This pulley is machined with a rear protection flange (shown in the image below) for cambelt protection to help prevent any foreign material ingress into the cambelt area. Where an underdrive pulley without a rear flange is fitted there is an exposed opening into the cambelt area which could allow in debris and cause engine failure.
Specifically designed for Front Wheel Drive Z20LEx applications.
Can be used with aircon or when removing aircon.
Can be used to replace the factory bottom pulley on Front Wheel Drive Cars, however this will need a slightly shorter belt than the factory belt when keeping the aircon in place. Choose Belt Option 5PK1645
Can also be used where aircon is being removed on Front Wheel Drive vehicles, with a direct route belt from pulley to alternator. When doing this choose Belt Option 5PK858.
