Cool Stat Thermostat 83 - Z16LEL/R A16LEL/R/S B16LER/S

For Z16LEx/A16LEx/B16LEx 1.6 Turbo Engines; Corsa D 1.6 SRi and VXR, Meriva VXR, Astra H 1.6 Turbo, Insignia 1.6 Turbo, Corsa E VXR (NOT Astra J 1.6T)

Our cooler running thermostats open 11 degrees earlier than a standard thermostat, allowing coolant to pass into the radiator sooner reducing the engine's normal running temperature by a few degrees, helping to protect the engine and run it closer to it's optimum power temperature. Our coolstats open at 83 degrees (standard stat opens at 92 degrees) and is fully open at 95 degrees (standard stat is fully open at 107 degrees).

For certain turbocharged models we recommend an 87 degree thermostat to allow optimum running temperature to be achieved.

The coolstat is supplied as an insert and simply bayonets into the original thermostat housing, once the standard thermostat has been removed.

Cooler running thermostats are designed for vehicles being put under more load or more extreme uses, such as fast road and trackday use. In certain very cold conditions a cooler running thermostat may cause running temperatures to drop below the optimum. This may also apply to vehicles that have water radiator changes and aircon deleted, especially on cruise.

Always monitor your coolant temperature to ensure that correct operating temperatures are being achieved.
