Astra G&H, Zafira A&B Air Filter Heat Shield/Open Airbox

We have had several customers ask for a heatshield / airbox for the Astra G & H / Zafira A & B Petrol Turbo models to work with a Direct Route / CDTi inlet hose set up, after all it’s a shame to pre-heat the inlet air giving your intercooler even more work to do!

This is suitable for 1.9 CDti models that are running on an open cone filter too !

In order to achieve this, we needed more than a shield / divider that just separated the cambelt area from the inner wing. The result of trialling was an air box that needed to mimic the inner wing shape, in that it had a stepped lower section which would then pick up on original factory cold air feed. This would then channel the cold air backwards so that it flowed back and over the air filter.

Beautifully crafted in the UK for us by Pro-Alloy Motorsport and powder coated black to finish. Supplied with a complete fitting kit as shown, made with provisions to secure a breather hose and / or the Air Mass Meter wiring harness.

Our results were as follows:
Testing on a day with the ambient temperature of 22.5 degrees, we ran the same car in 4th gear pulling from 40 mph to 100 mph with and without the airbox / heat shield. When using the airbox we had a significant temperature reduction of 5 degrees over the open filter.
